'Paper Witnesses of the Past' Exhibition
The exhibition “Paper Witnesses of the Past” marked the 70th anniversary of the Rovinj-Rovigno Heritage Museum. It presented a selection of the museum’s publications, including books, catalogues, brochures, and posters that accompanied the Museum’s exhibition programme from its founding in 1954 to its most recent editions. Our task was to develop the visual identity for the exhibition.
The exhibition branding is based on elements that are usually invisible to the public, yet are an essential part of the print production process: trim lines, color marks, and other technical prepress elements. The inspiration came from what designers see while arranging and organizing graphic elements. Rather than removing these technical marks from the final product, we incorporated them into the exhibition’s visual identity. This approach creates a connection with professional audiences while remaining recognizable and engaging to the general public. Elements that are typically hidden from view become visible and take on an active role in the exhibition narrative. The visual identity is consistently applied throughout the exhibition, from the exhibition design and interpretive elements to promotional materials, creating a cohesive and distinctive visual experience.
