Rovinj Heritage Museum
The pomegranate symbol is part of the identity of the city of Rovinj-Rovigno, and the Rovinj-Rovigno City Museum has been using it since 1974, back when it was known as the Rovinj Local Museum, on its posters and invitations. The original pomegranate symbol was created by the renowned Rovinj academic painter Egidio Budicin. However, due to its many details, the symbol has proven difficult to apply consistently across different media, so the task was to redesign and modernize it.
The redesign of the existing logo was carried out with full respect for the original work of the renowned academic painter. The symbol itself was retained in its original form, while the removal of fine details gave it a more contemporary and refined appearance. Striking colors were chosen to bring freshness back to the logo. The symbol was integrated with a bilingual inscription, with careful attention to harmony and balance between the symbol and the text. The result is a logo that honors the original artwork while at the same time appearing modern, fresh, and suited to today’s communication needs.
